Work from school
It’s been an interesting week on Hyper Island. We have started a new project in the module called Experience Technology and let’s just we’re being tested on a technical level.
This is a logo I recently designed for the project. Our task is to develop and create a prototype of an interactive game. The challenge lies in the technology as each group were given a techincal device. Some recieved a Wii Remote, some a webcam etc. Our group recieved an Arduino, a device that can be used as a bridge between a computer and a electronic circuit (that’s my amateur way of saying it atleast). We decided after brainstorming, that we would make a game based on an infrared detector with the game plot being something like this: Your mission is to get from start to finish without being noticed by the very sensitive PIR (Passive Infrared Detector). The game would include a high score panel, for the competition and it would all be controlled and automated by connection Arduino with a computer.
Although this might sound very simple, and something everyone can do (probably true), it’s a huge challenge to do in two weeks when neither of the group members have any experience when it comes to electronics and neither have heard of the Arduino.
The project is still on-going, and we are now entering our last week. Our Arduino is currently talking with our computer, using Flash and we have the PIR connected to Arduino. It will be very interesting to see how this develops, as in the week after we will be hosting an exhibition in Stockholm, showing off all the products that has been developed the last two weeks.
Too be continued!
